1.1 Scotland Level 5 Skill Check: Commas Remember: commas are used to show pauses; to separate the parts of a list; before certain conjunctions (e.g. for, and, nor); to separate introductory words or phrases within a sentence; to off-set non-essential elements in a sentence; to separate direct speech or quotes from the rest of a sentence; and to separate the parts in dates and addresses. Questions Add and/or remove commas where necessary in this extract. STAGE ONE: Bunnik to Amsterdam Our first cycling stage in Holland will be a 38 mile (60 km) ride from Bunnik to Amsterdam via Hilversum. Bunnik lies in the very centre of the Netherlands surrounded by rolling woodland meandering rivers and fields of tulips. For part of the journey we'll be cycling alongside the 'Crooked Rhine' river. Admittedly the looping bends will slow us down a bit but in the later stages there are several long straights on which we'll be able to make up time. Obksb 2022 ✩ Exit < Back Next > 17:38
