Research methods in environmental justice research. Over the course of the semester we have encountered several methods for examining environmental justice issues, including: scholarly articles, qualitative and quantitative research, journalism, documentary film, and ethnographic writing. Drawing on materials from the second half of the semester, pick two different methods (film, book journal article, ethnography) and compare and contrast how choices of different methodologies advance different understandings of the environmental injustices experienced by the case study each piece examines. What are strengths and weaknesses of different methods? What can one method demonstrate that another cannot?
