The difference between women then and now

like previous generations of women, were denied the right to make decisions and were only permitted to work as maids or housekeepers. but now in the present generation, women have the ability to make decisions and are permitted to work as a nurse, engineer, doctor, and so on.  

It just means that men are considered. who are more powerful than women in many fields such as politics, medicine, and many others. something else
