Imagine that you are living in ancient India. You are told to believe in Karma and Samsara......but inside yourself, you aren’t really sure if your soul would be reborn in a next life. Maybe your body just dies. Imagine that you are right in the middle of the Caste System and you are Farmer, and you grow crops and sell them. It’s not the best life, but it’s also not the worst. Now, here is the queson.......would you rather fulfill your Dharma (do you job only as a farmer, but never move up in the Caste System) and hope that if you do your soul will get reborn into another body next me, higher in the caste system. Maybe even a teacher! OR, would you rather try to make the most of your life. Forget your dharma and what might happen in your next life (if there is one!), and try to make the best possible life for yourself and your family (more money, nice home, beer food, educaon, medicine).
