A 5-year-old male patient is admitted after his caretaker noticed his head tilting to one side. Thepediatrician examined the child and also notes the head tilting to the right and that the patient ishesitant to move the head toward the left. Upon further evaluation, the doctor used anatomicalterms to describe the position the head is located. The doctor's notes are as follows: The head islaterally flexed to the right. The head is slightly rotated to the left (the chin is facing the left while theoccipit faces the right. The right SCM is contracting and when palpated is described as a muscle spasm.
