A higher respiration rate to maintain gas exchange hope it helps
As temperatures and carbon dioxide levels rise in the ocean, New England lobsters would adapt better by developing a higher respiration rate to maintain gas exchange.
The increase of carbon dioxide in seawater is causing it to acidify, which generates respiratory problems in the species that inhabit the seas. Therefore, the best adaptation of lobsters would be to develop a higher respiration rate, in order to purify the carbon dioxide that enters their organisms.
