The area of the picture frame is 352 inches

As frame and picture both are in rectangular shape

So area = length (width)

Area of the frame with picture = 16 (22)

Area of the frame = 352 sq.in

Area of the picture = (12)(18)

Area of the picture = 216 sq.in

Area of the frame = Area of the frame with picture - Area of the picture

Area of the frame = 352 - 216

Area of the frame = 136 sq. in
