Some tortoises that feed on grasses were observed on an island. Some years later, an environmental change caused the grasses to grow a bit higher off the ground. What evolutionary feature will you expect to see in the tortoises on the island?
The most expectant evolutionary feature would be longer necks. This will enable the tortoises to reach the higher grass. This would occur through natural selection that would favor the extreme traits (alleles of long neck) of long necks in the population.
