First of,the plate techonics explained the formation of the crust,the land we are living by stating the movement of magma causing different plate boundaries activity,which are collision,divergence and transformation.
In different boundaries,different features are brought into existance:
Collision:
Fold mountain-as two plates collide,the crust is fold up to form fold mountain. E.g. The Himalayas.
Ocean trench-as one of the plate subducts under another,a trench is formed. E.g. Aleutian Trench.
Volcanoes-as the crust crack under the pressure,magma wells up and cools down repeatedly forming volcanoes.
Divergence:
Creation of new plate-the plate parted and the upwelling magma filled the crack,forming new plate as the procedure repeat.
Ridges-as the magma rise from crack and cools down repeatedly,a ridge is formed. E.g. Mid-Oceanic ridge.
Volcanoes-again as magma wells up and cools down repeatedly, volcanoes are formed.
Transformation:
Volcanoes-as magma wells up from crack and cools down volcanoes are formed.
Fault-as the plate slide past each other,faults are formed. E.g. San Andreas Fault.
