When Sharlene only asked four random people on the street about their vote and reported to her American Government class that 75 percent of the city voted Republican, the most obvious problem with her statistic is that the sample size is too small.
A city most likely has thousands of people that live in it. Sharlene should have asked around 2,000 people for her research so her sample size would be enough for her statistic.
