Their are many reasons as to why but I would explain a few. One reason is because African Americans and Native Americans had traditional ways of living that were called "uncivilized" compared to the colonist. Colonist sick thinking made them feel that they were helping these groups of people by using them for their own privilege and benefit. Second, the Native Americans, which were settled on the land before the European colonist allowed them on their territory and taught them their cultivation and war skills. In a sum they were very friendly and trusting to the colonist, which led to them being taken advantage of and considered weak by the colonist. These are a few reasons I could immediately think of.
