Respuesta :

In the story of “A Brief Moment in the Life of Angus Bethune” by Chris Crutcher the author tells the story of Angus, a boy who complains about his life and four parents for being “different” to normal parents, his father and mother were non-hetero and had their respective partners.

A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes an object or action in a way that isn't literally true, but helps explain an idea or make a comparison.  We find a metaphor in: “the phantoms of  bad habits” (pg.3)

An analogy is a comparison between two things, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification. We find an analogy in: “I think my parents are ambassadors from  below”, the analogy is the comparison of Angus’ parents’ tendencies with the immoral and sinful decadence.

The tone is the general set of feelings that the writer wants to produce on the reader. The tone for this story is of sympathetic feelings toward poor Angus. And we can see it in this quotation:

“digging deep into my reserves for the courage not to crumble, hoping for the power to call up the vision of the decent guy I know I am rather than the short-fused, round clown-jock so many people see.” (pg. 6)

And finally the mood of the story is one of sadness, anger and frustration.

I hope you can refer me a brainliest, I spent quite some time reading the story to help you out.
