Ethnocentrism is the act of judging another culture based on preconceptions that are found in values and standards in one own culture. It is the technical name for the view of things in which one own's group is the center of everything, and all others are rated and scaled with reference to it. This often leads to pride, vanity, sense of superiority and contempt for another ethnicity.
