The Constitution of the United States stablishes three different branches of power in a federal government.

Article 1 of the United States Constitution stablishes the Legislative Branch. That is the Congress, which is responsible for creating laws.

Article 2 of the United States Constitution establishes the Executive Branch, the President, that is in charge of approve and carry out the laws.

Article 3 of the United States Constitution establishes the Judicial Branch, which consists of the United States Supreme Court. This is the one that interprets the laws passed by the Legislative Branch.
