SECOND TIME ASKINGAt a summertime poolside snack bar, 200 ice cream scoops were sold in one day. Double scoops were sold for $1.25 each and single scoops were sold for $1 each. If the proceeds from the sale of the cones were $221.75, how many of each kinds of cone were sold? In all, how many scoops of ice cream were sold?

Respuesta :

What we know:

200 ice cream scoops sold in one day

$1 for Single scoop

$1.25 for Double scoop

Proceeds $221.75

What we want to know:

We want to account for Double scoops($1.25) and Single scoops($1) and end up with exactly 200 ice cream scoops. So if we have exactly 200 how many of each cone were sold.

Reference:

100 x $1= $100

100 x $1.25= $125

200 x $1= $200

200 x $1.25= 250

Work:

So using the reference above we can see that if you split 200 even we get $225 which is very close to $221.75.

So $225-$221.75= 3.25

If we have 117 and 83 we get 220.75 so how do we get that 1 dollar more. tax i guess....
