There is a progressive homogeneization in modern societies because mass media, such as the television, expose people constantly to the same contents, which picture the world from a certain viewpoint and omit many other realities which are probably not very profitable to show, but which can be equally important. People who are not wise enough to feel the need to use alternative media, would not be properly informed as they will only consume the same type of information all the time.
