The Knight represents tradition as well as pride.An honourable man in the author´s words The Knight is a complex of what represented the English because of his chivalry and posture.Chaucer criticizes the admiration for the Knight in this part of the prologue.The words and expressions he uses seem to be of a too good to be true nature.

The Nun is funny.She is depicted as with an aspiration of being a fine woman , which she is not.She is too eager to eat but pretends to have the manners of a princess.She has feelings for the tinniest creatures on earth and that is loving about her.The author praises her.

The Merchant seems to be such an expert in the matters of trade as the author shows with his description.He loves speaking about his endeavours though he is very well in debt.He is not admired by the author because of that but all business men of the age were in arrears.
