To my mind, the correct answer is (C ). The thesis statement of this paragraph is presented in the first line while the following sentences are arguments that contributes of explaning the main idea. What is more, the author includes some evidence about getting too much vitamin C  and its consequences in order to give more detailes  that support his main idea.


The main idea of a text helps in determining the central focus of the paragraph and what is the purpose of writing it. The main idea in the above text is option B: supplements taken in excess can prove bad for your health.
