There's currently no cure for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The main aim of treatment is to relieve the symptoms as much as possible and slow down its progression. As the condition becomes more advanced, end of life (palliative) care will be offered.Fibrosis of the Liver. Fibrosis is the formation of an abnormally large amount of scar tissue in the liver. It occurs when the liver attempts to repair and replace damaged cells. Fibrosis itself causes no symptoms, but severe scarring can result in cirrhosis, which can cause symptoms.
