Jamal ran 5.01 meters , just convert the 500 meters into kilo meters so multiply by a thousand which comes out to 5000 add the 10 kilometers from the 2 and 8 and add it. You'll get 5,010 and just divide by 1000 to convert it back into meters and you should get 5.01 meters.
