He told Polyphemus his name is "Nobody", so when Polyphemus cried out for help, the others would not come to help. I believe when he shouted to his brother cyclops for help, they asked who is hurting you, and Polyphemus replied "Nobody", making the other cyclops believe that Polyphemus was experiencing pain from nothing.
