which example of sensory imagery from the excerpt best shows that doodle is upset about the death of the scarlet lbis?

A. he took out a piece of string from his pocket and, without touching the scarlet lbis, looped one end around his neck

B. slowly, while singing softly "shall we gatherat the river." he carried the bird around to the front yard and dug a hole in the flower garden, next to the petunia bed.

C. when doodle came into the dining room, he found us seriously eating our cobbler.

D. he was pale and lingering just inside the screen door.

Respuesta :

The answer is D. he was pale and lingering just inside the screen door.

Hope this helps :)

C is clearly not the answer so that rules out. A doesn’t really give us an image of him being upset but both B and D do. In my opinion I would go with D because it gives a much stronger image of doodle
