What is the difference between Romanticism and Neoclassicism?
Romanticism was a cultural movement that encouraged the freedom of expression of personal feelings and focused on emotions, intuition and imagination as sources of inspiration rather than superior intellects who glorified reasoning and science.
In romanticism, a man was seen as a good human and the view of life was taken in a broad sense.
On the other hand, Neoclassicism was focused on restraint and objectivity. In this, a man was seen as a flawed human with limited control and self power. The vision was life was narrowed and more focus was given on imitation of classics as opposed romanticism that just took inspiration.
This was also called as the "age of reason" on which religious beliefs, mortality, literature and politics was grounded and conservatism was made to flourish.
