Explanation;

  • Smooth muscles are the muscles that cause blood vessels to dilate and constrict. Smooth muscles forms the supporting tissues of the blood vessels and hollow internal organs such as intestines, bladder, etc.
  • Hormones such as vasopressin and Norepinephrine trigger the contraction of smooth muscles and thus constricting the blood vessels.  
  • When these hormones production is stopped then the smooth muscles will relax and thus dilating the blood vessels.
