Rats are very difficult to poison because they nibble a little bit of a novel food, then wait a while before eating more. If they get sick, they develop conditioned taste aversion to the food. How could you develop a poison that would work for rats and avoid conditioned taste aversion?

You can combine a whole bunch of random stuff that might smell putrid and put it near cheese. They wil then run and save themselves, forcring them to make a shiel for itself.
