Why can a ‘Friend’ on Social Media sites, not really be considered a true friend? What are ‘Hidden Rules’ for building relationships with people online?

Statement:
If It’s a friend on social media that you don’t know, then it is safer not to accept the friend request. If it’s a person that you do know, then it is ok to accept the friend request. It is just safer to accept follow requests to friends that you know over social media. The hidden rules of building relationships over social media is building friendships and getting to know the person before starting to message them over any social media. If you don’t know the person who is trying to friend you on social media, then it’s better not to friend them.

Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?

The reason why is because there are many problems and issues that have happened on the internet, either cyberbullies, creeps, or stalkers. If you have a social media account that's set on private, You shouldn't add or talk to anyone you don't know. For example, if you end up blocking that person they could constantly stalk or try hacking you, maybe even start cyber-bullying you. Be safe and very careful because the internet is basically our world but just virtual.

the question is do you really know anyone apart from your self so in respect to that it an equal gamble cause the person you think u know might bring harm to you or might even be " catfishing" you so I believe equal safe gaurd should be apply to both cases
