These gases can conduct electricity when they are in the plasma physical state. Plasma is formed when temperatures of gases are so hot that gaseous elements are separated into ions. This creates a hot ionized gas in the atmosphere. This also forms various colors in the atmosphere, known as aurora, in the polar regions.
