The Boreal Forest is relatively homogeneous and its characteristic way of life is the conifer, especially fir trees (Abies), pinabetes (Picea) and pine trees (Pinus). Lichens and mosses are an important component of this forest. Throughout the region there are swamps where Sphagnum, sedges, orchids and heather can be found.
