The incas were surrounded by mountains and they didn't have place to plant. Therefore they used the technique of terrace farming. Terrace farming is the art of cutting into s mountain to create space to plant.

The Aztecs also did not have place to plant. Consequently, the made mounds of earth in the water and planted on that.

These are both examples of how civilizations adapted to their environment.

  • In Inca terrace farming system,  The Incas are known to carved out bench terraces, or andenes, so as to make a level platforms for growing crops on the steep slopes of the Andes.

Due to the fact that they live in mountains, they had no flat land for farming and as such  have step-like areas called terraces for farming.

Aztec floating gardens  is called the Chinampas. This was made by the Aztec civilization and it is often called the "floating gardens,". They are  artificial islands that were formed by interweaving reeds with stakes under the lake's surface, thereby forming underwater fences.

Conclusively, The geography of both lands (Aztec  and Inca )influenced their farming.
