"The Cold Equations" is a science fiction short story made by Tom Godwin. It is a story that sows the difference between the life on earth and life when in space. In the story, a starship receives reports of an outbreak on a planet so it drops off to that planet with a pilot and a cure for the people on that planet. The pilot saw a stowaway girl who wants to see her brother however the pilot is confused on what to do because the ship only has enough fuel for him and his cargo.
