Peer pressure means when an individual takes part in or initiates activities which he or she does not personally feel are right to get the approval of his or her peers.People tend to do this to feel they are a part of a peer group and get accepted in it wholly. It makes people change their values, morals, codes, etc. to please their peer group.
Peer pressure is more common among teenagers. It usually has an adverse affect on them as they fall under depression, develop severe psychological eating disorders or abuse substances all because of peer pressure.Peer pressure can have positive affects as long as a person is a part of a peer group who are more mature, sensible, can differentiate between right and wrong and would not indulge in activities that would have long-term adverse effects.
