  • Due to the British colonial activity in India, there was a severe tax pattern and dominations over the native Indians in the Indian land. Thus made many of them make the agitations and in the return the British government arrested and punished them.  
  • During this time many leaders with the aim of freedom came up with different ideas in those leaders Gandhi was one of those who has the idea of non-violence which has the higher principle that without shedding blood we can attain the freedom from the British.
  • During this many controversial leaders such as Netaji and extremists were also working towards freedom but Gandhiji had many followers at that time.  
  • He also followed non-cooperation and civil disobedience movement along with the satyagraha movement.
