Answer:

Alcohol can alter your sports performance because of how it affects the body during exercise. Therefore drinking too much alcohol can lead to dehydration. Exercising soon after drinking alcohol can make dehydration worse because you also sweat during exercise. Dehydration leads to reduced exercise performance.

Researchers already know that alcohol dependence (AD) is strongly associated with impaired impulse control or, more precisely, the inability to choose large, delayed rewards rather than smaller but more immediate rewards. Findings from a study using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate the neural basis of impulsive choice among individuals with alcohol use disorders (AUDs) suggest that impulsive choice in AD may be the result of functional anomalies in widely distributed but interconnected brain regions that are involved in cognitive and emotional control.

Impulse is the urgent need to do a certain task and the person has no control over his actions. Delayed gratification enables a person to practice self discipline.

1.Exercise

Impulse - while exercising the person picks up weights of 50 KG to get more muscle gain while he was only recommended for 20 Kg ones.

Delayed gratification- the person experiences muscle cramps later and thinks that he should not have lifted heavier weights so soon

2. Alcohol use

Impulse - a person drinks one glass of alcohol everyday thinking that he wont drink anymore. he craves for another one and then another and ends up drinking two bottles of alcohol.

Delayed gratification - the person removes all the bottles of alcohol from his home and tries to cut on the drinking habit by drinking outside on weekends only.
