The Sahara
Tropical Rainforest
The Kalahari Desert
Savannas
Explanation:
Africa is a continent where the tropical climates dominate. They are so widespread that they cover almost all of the continent, with only very small areas, like around Capetown, the Mediterranean coastline, and Kilimanjaro having climate that is not in the tropical climate. The reason as to why this continent has mostly tropical climates is that the Equator runs through the central part of it, but also the location, size, and the types of winds that have influence.
Most of the continent is covered with:
- deserts
- tropical rainforests
- steppes
- savannas
Africa is home to the largest desert in the world, the Sahara Desert, which occupies almost all of the northern part of the continent and is approximately the size of the USA. In the southern part of the continent, the largest desert is the Kalahari, located in the interior and on a plateau. The tropical raiforests are located in the central part of the continent, where the Equator passes through. Between the deserts and the tropical rainforests there are steppes and savannas, both of which are dominated by grasses and shrubs.
