Some students were asked what kinds of animals they have at home. The results are below:

(a) List the animals in order of popularity from most popular to least popular.

(b) I estimated that 250 students were interviewed. Based on my estimate, how many students have an “other” pet? Show your work.

(c) If 75 students have cats, was my estimate of 250 students correct? If not, what is the actual number of students interviewed? Explain.

THE CHART IS FOR NUMBER THREE RIGHT AFTER IT SAYS BELOW. IF YOU PUT ANY COMMENT THAT DOESN'T ANSWER MY QUESTION I WILL DELETE THE ANSWER AND TAKE AWAY THE POINTS I GAVE YOU . IF YOU ANSWER RIGHT I WILL GIVE YOU 20 POINTS I WILL ALSO MARK BRAINIEST AND PUT THANKS OVER UR NAME

Respuesta :

(a) List of the animals in order of popularity from most popular to least popular.

  1. Dogs
  2. cats
  3. others
  4. Horse

(b) I estimated that 250 students were interviewed. Based on my estimate, how many students have an “other” pet? Show your work.

Total Number of  students = 250 . In that 8 % of students have other pets

Then

Number of students having other pets

= 8% of 250

= [tex]\frac{8}{100} \times 250[/tex]

=>[tex]0.08 \times 250[/tex]

=> 20 students

c) If 75 students have cats, was my estimate of 250 students correct? If not, what is the actual number of students interviewed? Explain.

To Find this, lets us find the number students with cats

Number of students having cats

=> 20% 250

=> [tex]0.2 \times 250[/tex]

=> 50 students

So the estimate of 250 students is wrong

let correct estimate be  x

20 % of x =  75

[tex]20\% \times x = 75[/tex]

[tex]\frac{20}{100} \times x = 75[/tex]

[tex]0.2 \times x = 75[/tex]

[tex]x = \frac{75}{0.2}[/tex]

x =  375

x  = 375 students

The actual number of students interviewed is 375
