Crankshaft overlap will increase with the decrease in the lobe center angle
The crankshaft is generally called as the "heart" of an engine, there is no dilemma that the camshaft is the "brain." Its work is to open and close the valves at just the appropriate time during engine rotation, so that maximum power and efficient clean-out of the exhaust can be obtained. The camshaft operates the distributor to electrically synchronize spark ignition.
The crankshaft is considered as the degree rotation to complete the cycle of opening the intake and exhaust valve. Crankshaft overlap is inversely proportional to the lobe center angle. So, the crankshaft overlap will increase with the decrease in the lobe center angle.
