what's the solution to x?

X=-19

1. You have to subtract 2 from both sides!

3x + 2 = -55
First your subtract 2 on both sides
3x + 2 = -55
-2 -2

3x = -57
Finally just divide by 3 on both sides
3x = -57
/3 /3
X=-19
And just to see if it works you can check your work by plugging -19 into the original equation and you can see both sides will be equal, ur welcome
