It is difficult to find the fossilzed plants and animals in the same place as the conditions that is suitable for fossilization of plants is quite different from the conditions that is required for the fossilization of the animals.
Plants are generally fossilized inside the deltas of river, ponds and lakes. Plants or some plant parts blow by wind and are then washed off into water bodies and then they sink into the bottom, gets buried under the layer of sediments. With time physical and chemical changes takes places and it becomes rock.
The Animal species gets tapped inside the rock and due to pressure the hard bones are fossilized.
