Hamlet:
Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark, is the protagonist in William Shakespeare's Hamlet. When the play opens, he is mourning the death of his father, King Hamlet. He does not approve of the new king, his uncle Claudius, particularly because Claudius married his mother soon after his father's funeral. When he learns that Claudius murdered his father, he sets out to avenge King Hamlet.
