It's not doing anything to the insects, there are billions constantly living. If the artist chooses to use insects, I would say that it is fine to do. I don't think there should be anything that would not let it be so.

Then again, that's just my opinion.

I think an artist using real insects is cool but not if the artist is killing them to use for his art. If the artist found dead insects and they looked cool to him and he had a vision then I think it’s cool and everything is art.
