2 (3x - 5y = 7)

=> 12y = 3

-10y = 14

22y = -9

divided bothsides

y = -9/22

To find x

substitute Y= -9/22

into 2x + 4y = 1

2x + 4(-9/22) = 1

2x -18/11 = 1

2x= 1 + 18/11

2x = (11 + 18)/11

2x = 29/11

x = 29/11/2

x= 29/22
