What do You think of my Summary?

The Stray
In the story the “Stray” Doris disovers a weak, and shy stray while shoveling up snow. Doris feeds it Scraps and keeps it in the basement until the day that the storm clears up,and her parents take the “Stray” to the pound. Doris does nothing but worry the entire time because he knows what is to come. Eventually that day did come, and both of his parents took the stray to the pound…or so he thought. When They got home his parents said “Well, are you going to let the mutt die of starvation?” Doris is puzzled, but then he eventually finds out his parents knew that the pound was not the place for the stray , as they only gave dogs 6 days to live.
