So I'm practicing writing Standard and Slope Intercept equations. Can anyone help me on writing both equations if the points are (3,5) and (0,0)?

Respuesta :

Answer:

standard: 5x-3y=5

slope intercept: y=5/3x-5/3

Step-by-step explanation:

so standard form is: ax+by=c

(a must be positive)

slope intercept form is: y=mx+b

(m is the slope of the line that the two points form)

first, find the slope:

(y1-y2)/(x1-x2)

(5-0)/(3-0)

slope=5/3=m

to do slope intercept, b is the y-intercept

to find that plug in one of your pairs of numbers like so,

y=mx+b

0=5/3x+b

b=-5/3

now we have slope intercept form!!

y=5/3x-5/3

to do standard form:

first, take your slope intercept form; y=5/3x-5/3

then subtract 5/3x from both sides making:

-5/3x+y=-5/3

multiply everything by -3 to get rid of the fraction and the negative like so:

5x-3y=5

and boom! standard form!

I always prefer going from slope-intercept to standard because its easier but its your choice! I hope I helped you!! Please mark brainliest!! Have a supertastic day
