A rock group plans to travel for a total of 38 weeks, making three concert stops. They will be in Japan for 6 more weeks than they will be in Australia. Their stay in Sweden will be 4 weeks shorter than that in Australia. How many weeks will they be in each country?

38 weeks in all 
3 stops 
Australia= x weeks 
Japan= x+4 weeks 
Sweden= x-2 weeks 
add all: x+(x+4)+(x-2)=38
             x+x+4+x-2=38
             3x+2=38
             3x=38-2
             3x=36
               x=36/3
so in Australia x=12 weeks
and in Japan  12=+4=16 weeks 
and in Sweden 12-2=10 weeks
