Answer:

Alexis de Tocqueville was a French thinker, jurist, politician and historian, precursor of classical sociology and one of the most important ideologists of liberalism. Tocqueville is known for his works "Democracy in America", which had two volumes - the first in 1835 and the second in 1840 - and by "The Old Regime and the Revolution", published in 1856.

He had an active participation in French politics of the 19th century, during the July Monarchy between 1830 and 1848, and then in the period known as the Second French Republic, between 1849 and 1851, which happened after the French Revolution of 1848. Later he would begin to work on his work The Ancient Regime and the Revolution. For it he argued about the importance of the French Revolution, which was to continue the process of modernization and centralization of the French state, which had begun under Louis XVI. He died in 1859, the product of tuberculosis that had been afflicting him for a long time.
