In the menstrual cycle, the Ovary releases an egg
every 14 day. Each time an egg is released, the Uterus
must prepare itself for a fertilized egg. A thick lining full of blood and tissue slowly develops. If the egg is fertilized by the Sperm.it passes into the uterus and attaches itself to the Uterus wall. If the ovum is not fertilized, it passes out of the uterus. The uterus lining will begin to break down and exit through the vagina. This process is called menstruation otherwise known as a "period
The menstrual cycle allows the uterus to grow a fresh lining every time a(n) egg is released to provide fresh and healthy conditions for the growing embryo.
This sequence of physiological process in females which last for 28 days is called menstrual cycle. It is controlled by the sex hormones Oestrogen and Progesterone.
The hormones are produced by the Follicle stimulating hormone in the pituitary gland. Luteinizing hormone, also in the pituitary gland stimulates the ovary for release of egg every 14 day(ovulation).
These hormones(Oestrogen and Progesterone) prepare the walls(endometrium) of the uterus for implantation . If fertilizations does not take place. The endometrium, un-fertilized egg ,hormones, mucus, blood tissues leave the uterus through the cervix as blood mixture .This is mensuration.
The beginning of new mensuration is at the first day of last one.. And the end of last menstruations is the beginning(first day) of the last one. Therefore it is sometimes called; Period.
