On the more negative side of things, if the disease has a high fatality rate, then this would also free up more bed, except it be due to death, in which, the main goal of survival is now lost. Hopefully, the disease is not too bad, or at least bearable. If that is the case, patients who have it could treat themselves, or stay inside their homes to contain it.
