How about saying “I want to drink a soda”?
The table tells you how to say “I want”, so write exactly as it is in the table. When you are writing two verbs in a row, you do not conjugate the second one.
Think about it in English: it wouldn’t make sense if I said “I TO want to drink a soda” or “I want drink soda” It’s the same in Spanish. You have to leave the second verb in the infinitive form so it means “to (blank)”, and conjugate the first.
Hopefully this helps!
