The human brain is a system, full of different parts and procedures. It works sort of like a car, with some areas designated to starting up the engine, some for moving the car, and some for telling you when somethings happened to the car. It’s a very complicated machine, and it should be treated as such. It’s like if you don’t put gas in your car, and do regular maintenance to keep it running well, it could stop, and leave the entire vessel utterly useless. It’s divided into three parts, which can also be put into our car simile. The cerebellum is responsible for planning and executing actions, kind of like a steering wheel and suspension. The cerebrum holds all of our thoughts, main mental functions, and our knowledge of how to work our bodies. This is quite similar to a GPS system. And finally, the brainstem. This is like the engine, it controls all the vital things that we can’t see, like heartbeat and breathing.
