I KNOW:
Circular fountain no. 1 diameter is 16 ft
Circular fountain no. 2 radius is 9 ft
I NEED TO KNOW:
How much more is the area of the larger fountain than the area of the smaller fountain.
PLAN AND WORK:
Area of circular fountain no. 1:
[tex]\pi \times8^2=201.06[/tex]
Area of circular fountain no. 2:
[tex]\pi \times9^2=254.47[/tex]
The larger fountain is circular fountain no. 2.
Area of circular fountain no. 2 - Area of circular fountain no. 1
[tex]254.47-201.06=53.41[/tex]
MY SOLUTION:
[tex]\huge \boxed{\sf 53.41 \ ft^2}[/tex]
